Among the few passengers rescued from the ill-fated liner Burutu which sank after collision last Thursday night was Capt. Arthur Howe, brother of Mr F. Howe, Milton Avenue, Wellsway, who married Miss Woodrow of Westgate Street. Capt. Howe, who was returning home to Bristol from West Africa, has many friends in Bath who will be pleased to hear of his safety. The Burutu sank in ten minutes, no time being given to launch the boats.
